The Bulgarian Minister of Transport, IT and Communication, Alexander Tsvetkov, has called on Bulgaria's railway authorities to come up with a new information system to be used in crises.
Tsvetkov stated that he contacted The National Railway Infrastructure Company and Bulgarian State Railways and asked them to come up with an information system for passengers to be used in a crisis situation as soon as possible.
The move comes after some trains were made to wait for over 7 hours until the Sofia-Plovdiv line was re-started at 9:02 on Monday morning. No information was provided for the passengers on the majority of the trains.
The delays came as a result of a car accident near the train station in Belovo. Two 30-year-old men died at the scene when their Honda Civic crashed into an electricity pylon, cutting electricity to the train track systems.
