Two people have died in a car accident near the train station in Belovo stopping the main Sofia-Plovdiv line, local police stated early Monday.

Local Pazardzhik police spokesman, Miroslav Stoyanov, stated that two 30-year-old men had died at the scene when their Honda Civic crashed into an electricity pylon.

6 trains were stopped on the line and others were canceled before they set off. Some of the trains waited for over 7 hours until the line was re-started at 9:02.

The electricity in the area was immediately cut and Bulgarian State Railways stopped all trains on the Sofia-Plovdiv line as the accident caused damage to their electricity systems.
