Bulgaria: Bulgarian Family's House Threatened by Athens Wildfire A house is surrounded by blazes in Pallini, 10 km north of Athens, Greece on 23 August 2009.

A Bulgarian family that owns a house in an evacuated Northern Athens suburb has contacted Bulgaria's Embassy in the Greek capital over the advancing wildfire.

The family has a house in the area of the Agios Stefanos suburb, and they sought instructions from the Bulgarian Embassy about what actions to undertake if the fire reaches their property.

This has been announced by Chavdar Agayn, Spokesperson of the Bulgarian Embassy in Athens who explained that the house of the Bulgarian family was not under direct threat, and that they have been instructed to follow the directions of the Greek authorities.

Agayn also said that the Embassy in Athens was in communication with the Greek authorities regarding the sending of potential aid by Bulgaria for dealing with the raging wildfires that was offered earlier by the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.
