The new head of the Bulgarian Border Police will be Zahary Penov, the Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov said Friday.
Until the new appointment, Penov had worked as head of the border Police in the town of Dragoman.
Tsvetanov said that the had ordered Penov to conduct a strict investigation of all the work of the border crossing points during the previous government.
The ex-head of the Border Police, Krasimir Petrov, was released of duty on Thursday, after he had a conversation with Tsvetanov and representatives of the services in the Interior Ministry that deal with corruption counteraction.
