TURKEY READY TO ISSUE MORE ROAD CARRIERS PERMITS

Turkey is ready to increase the number of one-off permits issued to Bulgarian road carriers, Transport Minister Plamen Petrov said. The move has been proposed by his Turkish counterpart Oktai Vural in a telephone conversation.Sofia seeks to obtain from Turkey an additional 3,000 permits for direct haulage to Bulgarian and another 500 for transit haulage via Turkey. In case the latter demand is met the Bulgarian trucking companies will have access to the Turkish transport market. So far Turkey has issued 250 transit permits for Bulgarian road hauliers this year and another 6,000 one-off permits to Bulgarian truckers.
