Pope John Paul accepted on Tuesday the resignation of the Roman Catholic bishop of Lexington, Kentucky, who has been accused of molesting a boy more than two decades ago. The resignation comes two days before U.S. bishops are due to hold a landmark meeting in Dallas to discuss child sex abuse by priests.
