Bulgaria Producer Prices Continue to Fall in June

Business » FINANCE | July 31, 2009, Friday // 13:10

Bulgaria's producer price index (PPI) dropped 7,3% in June on an annual basis, following a decrease by 6,7% year-on-year the previous month, official data shows.

On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 0,5% in June, the National Statistical Institute said.

Meanwhile, the producer price index on domestic market declined 5,1% on an annual basis in June, and it was up 0,2% compared to the preceding month.

Analysts attribute this to the harsher competition on international markets and the more flexible contracts in Bulgaria.
