New York police have warned Jewish activists in the city that they will face arrest if they go ahead with a plan to set armed patrols for Jewish neighbourhoods. The Jewish Defence Group (JDG) said armed residents would patrol two Jewish neighbourhoods in response to reports that terrorists who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993 originally targeted Jewish areas in New York.
