Until the end 2009, the deficit in the Bulgarian National Social Security Institute will reach BGN 555 M, while 90% of the government subsidy have been paid.
This has been announced Thursday by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Totyu Mladenov, after a meeting with representatives of the syndicates, and employers organizations.
The Ministry can use up to EUR 1,2 B funds from the operational program "Human resources", he said, adding that he has already ordered the creation of three more measures on that program.
Efforts must be made to qualify those who need training, and who are illiterate, and to find jobs to these people, Mladenov said.
In order to limit expenditures the Minister has repealed the decree of the former minister, Emiliya Maslarova, for helping elderly people to go to a vacation. Maslarova's measure has been taken as pure populism.
Mladenov is going to announce his deputies in the beginning of the next week. He announced that there would be a deputy minister responsible for EU funds usage.
