Bulgaria`s political forces are gratified by the nomination of Simeon Saxe-Coburg as prime minister-designate, BTA Press Agency announced. According to the leader of the Union of Democratic Forces and Deputy Floor Leader of the United Democratic Forces Ekaterina Mihailova, it is only normal for Simeon Saxe-Coburg to be nominated as prime minister and to assume the responsibility for running the country, once he is leader of the coalition that has won the elections and has received so much confidence from Bulgarian voters. `This is an extension of the normal political logic which should be applied in Bulgaria as a democracy,` Mihailova said, recalling that the UtdDF nominated a prime minister in the same way four years ago. The leader of Coalition For Bulgaria Georgi Purvanov noted that Saxe-Coburg`s nomination is a normal decision of the parliamentary election winners. `From now on, the majority should seek a faster formation of a cabinet,` he said. Purvanov believes that a `programme-based government` would be the best option. `The cabinet should be a broad-based coalition raher than an axis, and least of all an axis between the SNM nd the UDF,` the Socialist leader said. Kemal Eyup of the Parliamentary Group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms coalition described Simeon`s acceptance of the prime ministry as a `revolutionary event.``This will be headline news for Bulgaria, Europe and the world,` Eyup told BTA.
