Money is vital when it concerns life. In the case of children who need liver transplantation this vital sum is DEM 180,000. On Saturday, the eight-month Lyubomir Karagyulev from Plovdiv left for an operation in the clinic in Germany. He has less than a month life if he does not get a liver transplantation. The most common reason for transplantation in children is biliary atresia, a disease in which the ducts that carry bile out of the liver are missing or damaged. The money for Lyubomir was gathered for sixty days under the United Media initiative, launched in 2000. Money for six children have been gathered under the initiative till now according to Vessela Danchovska, coordinator of the initiative and journalist in the Bulgarian National Television. Money was gathered from donation for Penka Zlatanova from Zlatitsa who now waits for operation in Hambourg. Two-years old Ivaylo Sinapov from Rudozem already had a liver transplantation and is already back from Germany. More than two years have passed since the transplantation operations Niki Stoyanov from Varna and Martin Popov from Sofia. Starting from May 22, “United Media” started gathering money for the transplantation of Vassilka Ivanova (3 and a half years old). Urgent liver transplantation is the only alternative for the child. Vassilka is the seventh child, for which the United Media gather funds. Novinite.com, as member of the United Media initiative calls on everyone who has the opportunity to donate money for the campaign. You can transfer money in the account of the United Media in State Savings Bank (DSK Bank), branch “Kaloyan”, bank code: 30021148, bank account in Bulgarian levs: 1000515517. Nothing is more precious than a child's life.
