Bulgaria Labor Minister: Social Dialogue Must Be Restored Urgently

Urgent restoration of the social dialogue at all levels will be the first thing that the new Minister of Labor and Social Works, Totyu Mladenov, will do.

Mladenov announced this himself after his nomination became official on Thursday, Darik Radio reported.

"The dialogue was stopped by the government a year ago, just when Bulgaria entered the economic crisis. Limiting the unemployment rate is another important thing we will work on", Mladenov said.

In his words, due to the inadequate policy of the government, the number of employees who work without labor contracts has increased in the last few months.

"The social policy is not independent activity. It is connected with the economy, business, and only then the social protective network comes. That is why, such policy is not done by only ministry. Social policy is done by the whole country and the Parliament", Mladenov explained.
