The number of tourists staying at Bulgaria's Black Sea resort of Albena in June 2009 is 10% smaller than their number in the same month of 2008.

This becomes clear from tour operator data cited by the Bulgarian press. The holidaymakers currently staying in Albena, which one of Bulgaria's top sea resorts, are about 10 300. Their number is expected to reach 15 000 by the end of the month.

Yet, available information from tourism agencies suggests that the room and apartment bookings in Albena for July and August are very few compared to other years especially since the midsummer months are supposed to be the peak in terms of the number of visitors.
