50.1% OF BUDGETED ANNUAL TAX REVENUES COLLECTED

A total of 50.1% of the budgeted annual tax revenues were collected by June 30, 2001, the Chief Tax Directorate reported. The amount of BGN 2.743 Bln. had been received as taxes, which is BGN 190 more than in the year-ago period. Revenues from profit and property taxes exceeded the predictions in the annual plan by 75.9% and 67.6%, respectively. VAT accounted for 43% of the tax receipts in the first half of the year, gross income tax for 19%, profit tax for 22%, excise duties for 11%. Revenues from VAT amounted to BGN 1.196 Bln., from natural persons income tax to BGN 517.5 M, from profit tax to BGN 596.4 M. Another BGN 165.7 M was paid as profit tax by non-financial enterprises. Excise duty revenues stood at BGN 304.3 M, property taxes amounted to BGN 60.6 M.
