Russia's Central Bank (CBR) intends to introduce a free currency flow regime for the rouble (RUB).

This was announced Thursday by CBR's governor, Sergei Ignatyev, as cited by ITAR-TASS.

In his words, the Bank of Russia has no plans to change the structure of the two-currency basket in the foreseeable future.

Currently, the USD-to-EUR ratio in the structure of the two-currency basket in Russia is 55% to 45%, respectively.

According to the CBR governor, the rouble will not reach the lower limit of the two-currency basket in 2009.

In the period from February 1, 2009 to May 25, 2009, CBR acquired USD 30 B, and its gold-currency reserve reached USD 402 B.
