The 1000-MW Unit 5 of Bulgaria's nuclear power plant at Kozloduy has been restarted after the completion of the annual maintenance operations.

Unit 5 was turned off on April 11, 2009, for the scheduled annual repair and refill procedures.

The operations have been completed successfully, and Bulgaria's Nuclear Regulation Agency has issued a permit for the turning on of the reactor.

The other functioning reactor of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, the 1000-MW Unit 6 is functioning at 100% of its capacity.
