Court Case over Bulgaria Road Controversy Still Pending
Sofia City Court postponed on Monday the trial against the former head of the state-owned National Road Infrastructure Fund, who has been charged for giving lucrative contracts to his brothers.

The brothers of the notorious former Executive Director of the Republican Road Infrastructure Fund, Vesselin Georgiev, refused to testify during his Wednesday trial.
Boyko and Emil Georgievi took advantage of their right to not be a witness in the trial of a relative.
Vesselin Georgiev aka Batko (Big Brother) is charged with abuse of power for the July 2006 - November 2007 period.
As Executive Director of the Republican Road Infrastructure Fund, in violation of the Public Tenders Act, Georgiev had approved contracts between the Fund and different companies amounting to BGN 120 M, with the goal to provide profits for his two brothers.
