The Bulgarian border police have arrested a 36-year-old Greek, who tried to board a flight to Greece at Sofia airport carrying 5 guns and over 550 bullets.

At the baggage checkpoint at Sofia Airport, the Greek citizen had informed security that he was carrying a gas pistol. The man's luggage was then searched and the hoard was discovered, including the bullets and 4 more gas pistols.

The police asked for documentation for the guns and bullets and when the man informed them that he was not carrying any he was arrested.

The man who was booked on a flight to Larnaca in Greece has been taken away for questioning and will most likely be held for 72 hours before appearing in court.
