The USAID will extend funding for civil qualification courses of 120 military officers made redundant as a result of the liquidation of Pirin Division of the Bulgarian Armed Forces. Some 120 officers out of 900 will study English. The courses include teaching business entrepreneurship and computer literacy. The USAID evaluates its expenses on this project at $30 000. Soros will also take part in funding the retraining courses through his company Rila Solutions. Some 60 officers started their one-month training in computer literacy last week. In September another group of 60 officers will start training at the American University in Blagoevgrad.
