Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev, was bestowed in Moscow with the honorary "Friend of the Press" Order.

The Order is awarded by the Russian news agency "ITAR-TASS" and Club of the Leading Russian Media Editors-in-Chief.

The award was handed to Stanishev Tuesday by the ITAR-TASS's Director, Vitaly Ignatenko, during a meeting between the PM and media bosses in the news agency's headquarters.

The Order is given to state and public leaders for openness and good will in their relations with the media.

Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov, was bestowed the Order on February 6 during his visit to Moscow, dedicated to the "Year of Bulgaria in Russia".
