Amendments to the judicial power law were approved in Parliament on May 31 with 133 votes in favor and 47 abstaining votes. The MPs from the ruling Simeon II National Movement, the ruling party coalition party Movement for Rights and Freedoms voted in favor of the changes. Leftist “Coalition for Bulgaria” supported the amendments with minor remarks, while rightist opposition party United Democratic Forces abstained.
