INTRACOM TO EXPAND ITS BUSINESS IN BULGARIA

Intracom, the largest telecommunications company in Greece, is considering a new strategy for its activities in Bulgaria, president Kokkalis announced on Monday. `The marketing survey study on telecommunications services in Bulgaria is almost complete and we believe your country has both highly qualified specialists and a sound basis for the sector`s further development`, Intracom`s vice president Tzavella announced, quoted by influential Trud daily. `We hope the new Bulgarian government will support not only the financial system but also the perspective sectors`, Kokkalis added. Intracom is among the largest private companies in Greece, with an annual turnover of EUR 1.287 Bln. It exports telecommunications equipment and information systems in more than 40 countries around the world. In Bulgaria Intracom holds a 66% share in the Bulfon card entity and is the owner of Intracom Bulgaria. Intracom will be also probably one of the equipment suppliers for the second GSM operator, Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile, with no exclusive rights.
