Bulgaria's Interior Ministry will keep Sofia's Mayor and leader of the GERB party, Boyko Borisov, safe if needed.
That was announced Friday by Interior Minister, Mihail Mikov, after Mayor Borisov's declared Thursday the socialists and the ethnic Turks were areplanning an attempt on his life.
Borisov, quoted by the Bulgarian news agency BGNES, made the accusations against the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), during a special press conference in connection with the latest information that he has been summoned to testify in the trial of alleged Balkan drug lord Sreten Josic.
Sofia's Mayor and informal leader of the popular center-right party GERB explained that Bulgaria's Prime Minister and BSP leader, Sergey Stanishev, and the DPS leader, Ahmed Dogan, were making plans to kill him and then blame it on Sreten Josic.
