Bulgaria and Serbia have signed an intergovernmental agreement on exchange and mutual protection of classified information in the field of defense.

The paper was inked by the President of the State Commission on Information Security Tsvetan Markov and the Secretary of State of the Serbian Defense Ministry, Dusan Spasojevic.

In the words of Markov, the agreement paves the way for further development of bilateral relations and participation in joint drills, and enhancement of bilateral relations in the military sector, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

This is the first signing of a defense agreement between the two countries since Bulgaria recognized Kosovo as an independent country, leading to a cooling in relations.
