Bulgaria Bulgaria to Experiment with Electronic Voting: Bulgaria to Experiment with Electronic Voting Parliament adopted amendments to the Election of National Representatives Act at second reading on Tuesday.

Bulgaria will introduce for the first time a system for electronic voting in a bid to prevent vote buying during the upcoming elections in the summer, parliament decided.

Voters will be able to cast their ballot electronically via special cards in fifty election booths, equipped with monitors and card readers, under amendments to the Election of National Representatives Act, which parliament adopted at second reading on Tuesday.

The voters' anonymity is guaranteed.

The parliament rejected a proposal for online voting, which aimed to involve more young people and those living abroad in the political decision-making of the country.
