Two months before the end of its term Bulgaria's parliament saw the establishment of a new group, headed by Yane Yanev, leader of the conservative right-wing Order, Law and Justice Party.

The parliamentary group, which was named after Yanev's party, has eleven members and will be registered on Friday.

It is the latest in a series of retailoring moves among right-wing formations and is expected to attract those disgruntled with the decision of the two biggest right-wing parties, DSB and UDF, to pool their forces ahead of the general elections in the summer.

"Our chief priorities will be strict parliamentary control and corruption combat," Yanev said.

He forecast that the group will soon swell to include more than twenty MPs.

The performance of the rightist parties in Bulgaria at elections has been going from bad to worse since 2001. They have presently no members of the European Parliament as they failed to pass the 5% threshold in Bulgaria's EP elections in the spring of 2007.

Fifty MPs in the country's 240-seat unicameral parliament have swapped or changed their parliamentary groups since the summer of 2005, data shows.
