Business | July 9, 2001, Monday // 00:00
A group of Japanese companies, including Tokuda, is interested in buying the air carrier Balkan. The announcement was made by the financier Stoyan Alexandrov, managing Tokuda Credit Express bank and consulting the corporation in Bulgaria. By now there are three candidates for Balkan: an Asian corporation, whose name is kept in secret, the Israel group Gadan and Tokuda. According to Alexandrov even if the air company is sold again, the disputes between previous owners–the Israel company Gad Zeevi and the state will continue in the court. From the 15th of July, the company resumes flights to Athens and Istanbul. Balkan already resumed flights to 8 of the international destinations and from the beginning of August the company will start servicing the lines to Copenhagen and Stockholm.
