Active cultural exchange between Bulgaria and Russia is not going to be limited to "The Year of Bulgaria in Russia", but would include at least 2-3 major annual cultural events.
The cultural agreement was reached between the Bulgarian Culture Minister Stephan Danailov and his Russian counterpart Alexander Avdeev. Danailov is in Moscow as part of the official Bulgarian delegation, lead by the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov.
The two ministers met Thursday at the famous "Pushkin" coffeehouse in downtown Moscow. The special cultural advisor of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also attended the meeting.
The ministers agreed that top rated Bulgarian classic and contemporary movies are going to be featured at the International Moscow Film Festival and at the film festivals in Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
"The Year of Bulgaria in Russia" includes many concerts, exhibits, book fairs and others. Over 870 Bulgarian artists and performers will take part in the program.
Danailov and Avdeev also discussed the upcoming gala concert scheduled for Thursday night to officially launch "The Year of Bulgaria in Russia." The interest towards the concert in Moscow has been huge and the 1,000 seats have long been sold-out.
