PA PUTS OFF DEALS TO THE NEW GOVERNMENT

Business | July 8, 2001, Sunday // 00:00

Most of the deals and the opened privatisation procedures will be left to the next government because the present team of the Privatisation Agency /PA/ is unable to materialise them, officials from the PA announced. This decision was made because of the declaration submitted by the Simeon II National Movement, dated June 20, 2001, which appeals for suspending the opened privatisation procedures. Last week the PA decided to postpone the privatisation of the hotels, restaurants and tennis courts in the Slanchev Bryag resort until end-September. The privatisation of Alen Mak will have the same fate because none of the nine candidate buyers have submitted an offer by the June 27 deadline. A new tender will be launched for the editorial building of Rodina printing and publishing house. No official decision has been made on Iliyantsi`s divestiture though the PA has selected Trakiya of Plovdiv as exclusive buyer. The negotiations with Pirin Tourist for Hemus Air and with Sweden`s SKF for the bearings plant in Sopot however will be finalised for the 30-day term expires this week.
