BULGARIA will provide 100 cargo carriages worth DEM 1.7 M for the needs of Macedonia`s railways. Macedonia will receive another 50 carriages from other countries. This is done to provide faster transportation of goods for the needs of Macedonia`s economy and KFOR.

A TOTAL OF EUR 8 M will be provided this year under the PHARE programme for trans-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania. The financing will be used for building a common border check-point at Silistra-Calarasi, for the reconstruction of the international road between Negru Voda in Romania and General Toshevo in Bulgaria, for joint environmental monitoring of the two countries` Black-Sea areas, etc.

THE CENTRE for Economic Development organises on Wednesday an international conference on the best practices for financing small and medium-sized enterprises in Southeast Europe. Representatives of research institutes, financial institutes, governmental bodies and NGOs from Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro are invited to the conference.

THE REVENUES from the operation of the customs administration in the first six months of the year amount to a total of BGN 1.226 M (13.9% more than in the year-ago period), the Customs Agency announced. 97.6% of the overall revenues infused into the central government budget (14.9% more compared to the same period in 2000).
