Several hours before the arrival of Pope John Paul II in Bulgaria (www.popeinbulgaria.com) the traffic of pedestrians and automobiles along the main Sofia streets is normal. Souvenirs with the effigy of the Holy Father and his seal are being sold at several pavilions. Some of the police forces are already on alert expecting the arrival of the Holy Father. About 6,000 policemen from Sofia and around the country will provide the security measures during the visit. Two helicopters and a plane will also be included in the security. The spectacle and the tight security measures during the Papal visit angered some citizens of the capital. Prohibition will be imposed in the capital over the next few days.
