India's Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is due to hold talks with security officials in the disputed region of Kashmir, as fears grow that an all-out war with Pakistan is imminent. Mr Vajpayee is on the last day of his visit to Indian-controlled Kashmir where on Wednesday he delivered a belligerent speech to frontline troops. Pakistan responded by saying it wanted negotiations but would fight back with "full force" if it came under attack. The European Union and the United States have both voiced fears that the two nuclear rivals are close to full-scale war and have sent envoys to the region to try to cool tensions.
