Bulgaria's Minister of Interior Mihail Mikov, and the Minister of Justice and Police of Switzerland Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf signed Friday an intergovernmental agreement for the repatriation of illegally residing persons.

Minister Mikov underscored that this act was a sign of the improved trust in Bulgaria with respect to the free movement of people in the EU. Both Ministers pointed out that Bulgaria should use the relevant experience of Switzerland, which is joining the Schengen Agreement in December 2008.

The Swiss Minister Widmer-Schlumpf said she was satisfied with the results of the talks she had with her Bulgarian counterpart on drug and human trafficking, and especially on the trafficking of sex slaves.
