Bulgarian Kidnapped in Nigeria

Crime | November 21, 2008, Friday // 00:00

A Bulgarian citizen has been abducted in Nigeria, Darik News reported Friday, citing statement of Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry.

The victim left for the West-African country to work for a foreign company.

The authorities in Bulgaria's Embassy in Abuja have been signaled over the case by employees of the company the abducted man was serving for.

"Unfortunately, the information for the kidnapping is true. We are not going to deliver more details on the case as that could impede the investigation process," said Dragovest Goranov, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.

The institution's officials have called on the Bulgarians not to travel to Nigeria.
