Bulgaria's Deputy Economy Minister Nina Radeva is to meet Wednesday representatives of Ukrainian Smart Group company to start talks over the acquisition of the insolvent steel mill Kremikovtzi.

The news was announced by the leader of the KNSB trade union organization in the plant, Vasil Yanachkov, after meeting Ms Radeva.

Mr Yanachkov also told protesting workers, who hit Friday the streets of Sofia for filth consecutive day, that Smart Group are ready to start delivering row materials until the end of the week.

Smart Group is the owner of another Bulgarian steel-maker - ProMet, located close to the Black Sea city of Burgas. Through a merger in 2007 it was taken over by Metinvest Holding, which is owned by Ukraine's richest man, Rinat Akhmetov.
