Postmen in Bulgaria's Russe to Deliver Mail by Eco Car

Society | November 11, 2008, Tuesday

An electricity-driven eco car will be used by the post office in Bulgaria's Danube town of Russe for delivering the mail to their clients, authorities reported Tuesday.

The vehicle, which is a prototype of the Free Duck car, was produced by the Italian Ducati Company.

The project was developed by experts from two European universities, including Russe University. Specialists from international institutions and organizations have also joined the project.

The maximum load the "Duck" could take is 200 kilograms.

The test drive is to continue for two years before the post eco car is spread throughout Europe.

Well that's great. But can't they just walk, like postmen in other countries? Surely that's the greenest means of delivery?

What is the most important conclusion from the Sofia Mayor elections on November 15, 2009?
That the ruling party GERB of PM Borisov continues to be hugely popular, whereas the Socialists are pretty much out.

That the decline of the Socialist Party has stopped whereas the ruling party GERB has failed to attract the expected very high number of voters.

That the Sofia residents are either completely disillusioned with politics, or care little about who is Mayor.

That the record-high jackpot of the Bulgarian State Lottery "Toto" generated much greater interest than the Mayor elections.
