Varna District Court sentenced Tuesday a father to one year and 11 months behind bars for killing his little son after thrashing him several days in a row.

Milen Aleksiev, 27, has taken care over the child since his ex-girlfriend and mother of the boy, abandoned him and left for Greece.

After founding a kind of a family with his new partner, Aleksiev decided to take Chochko, 2, at home.

The victim however could not tell when he had some physiological needs and the father tried to "train" such abilities by beating the child.

Thrashing with wooden sticks, bumping head against the floor and kicking were some of the "methods" Aleksiev used.

The defendant was punished over "causing death by imprudence", the court ruling reads.
