Bulgaria's national football team registered its third draw in a row in a match against Georgia played Wednesday evening as part of the World Championship qualifiers.
The overall weak performance contrasted to the excellent play of the goalkeeper Georgi Petkov, who saved the squad from a shameful loss in Tbilisi.
One of Bulgaria's best footballers, Martin Petrov, left the game after suffering a trauma in the first half of the match.
"It seems that is all we can do. We did not manage to form a real attack against Georgia's goal. We obviously do not deserve to play at the World Championship," said Bulgaria's captain Dimitar Berbatov immediately after the game was over.
"We could not overleap ourselves," he added bitterly.
The coach Plamen Markov criticized all the players, saying he would replace at least nine of them if the rules allowed that.
The match was one of the battles in Group 8 of the World Cup qualifiers. So far, Italy leads with seven points. Bulgaria has only three points won in its first three games.

Half of the BG midfields and 100% of the strikers play in the Premier league and in the Bundesliga. If they play for their clubs as they play for their country they would not be kept for too long.
I dont really understand why it is so difficult for these guys to put the same effort when they play for Bulgaria as they do when they play for foreign clubs.

bad game, hopefully this will motivate the team to beat ireland our next game in march, as they are our main opponents for the 2nd spot. btw, i dont think the playes are trying, they just had an off game. They woudnt waste their time playing for bg if they didnt care. Markof said that whoever dosent care to play their best, shoud leave.
