A Bulgarian truck driver crashed in Belgium, which caused the blocking of the whole road for several hours on Tuesday until his truck could be pulled out of the roadside ditch, dariknews.bg reported.
The driver, whose name is not revealed, had the accident after driving without sleep for 35 hours.
He first claimed he crashed because he was blinded by the lights of a car coming from the other direction but the police used a tachograph, and discovered he had been driving for 35 hours straight.
As a result of the incident, the local prosecution deprived the Bulgarian of the right to drive for 15 days.
