False Employee of Bulgaria Presidency Collects "Donations"

Crime | October 8, 2008, Wednesday // 00:00

An imposer claimed he was an employee of Bulgaria's Presidential Administration to illegally collect money from big companies, authorities reported Wednesday.

The man, who introduced himself as Iliya Arabadzhiev, sent letters and phoned to firms' offices saying he aimed at gathering donations for the treatment of an ill child.
The cheat claimed he was a representative of a charity campaign.

An official announcement made by the Presidency revealed a man with that name was not working there.

"We condemn that criminal act that uses the misery of children and their parents for commercial purposes," the statement reads.

Police authorities have been signaled over the case and are still conducting an investigation.
