Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency initiated Sunday an investigation of the property of the leader of rightist political party Union of Democratic Forces Plamen Yurukov.

The Revenue Agency was alerted by the Parliamentary Committee for Combating Corruption about disturbing facts about Yurukov's property and tax information.

"It is certain that Plamen Yurukov lied in his property declaration before the Audit Office by concealing a number of business partnerships, and by transferring property to his wife Sonia", reads a letter of the Executive Director of the Revenue Agency Mariya Murgina to the Chair of the Parliamentary "Anti-mafia" Committee Boyko Velikov, as quoted by BGNES.

The letter also points out that the UDF Chair Yurokov participated in 15 trading companies and three non-profit organizations, including a political party, and is the representative of eight of those.
