Two sailors from the ship "Tolstoy" have survived Saturday, according to a statement made by Plamen Bonev, the Director of the "Search and Rescue" department at the Varna Maritime administration.

Bonev, who spoke before Darik radio said that the two have been seen floating on a safety board near Tsarevo. A rescue cutter has been sent immediately.

The rescue operation was cancelled late Saturday evening due to the extremely bad weather, but resumed on Sunday. According to Bonev, the sailors have some chance for survival because the weather conditions were improving.

Saturday morning at dawn, the ship "Tolstoy" sailings under a North Korean flag disappeared in open sea about 15 miles east from the cape "Emine." Ten people have been on board - nine Ukrainians and the captain, who is Russian. The Bulgarian Ministry of Transport has informed that the ship is under Ukrainian ownership.
