The Regional Court in Bulgaria's town of Stara Zagora imposed Thursday a 9-month sentence to the already jailed Serbian national Budimir Kujovic over making obscene gestures and swearing at reporters in January.
Kujovic, who recently put behind bars for 18 years for organizing drug trafficking network and illegal crossing of the Bulgarian border, apologized for his acts and explained they were triggered by the enormous pressure he was under.
The Bulgarian nationals Nikolay Piskov, Stoyko Doychev, and Mihail Yankov, who were accused of being Kujovic's accomplices, received twelve, fourteen, and fifteen years in jail respectively.
Kujovic was arrested on December 30 last year in Stara Zagora after Bulgarian customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint with Turkey seized 60 kilograms of heroin.
The arrest came as a surprise, as Kujovic had Bulgarian identification documents issued by the police, despite the 10-year ban to enter the country, which he got in 2005 over accusations of running a laboratory for production of synthetic drugs.
Later, it emerged that all the documents of the criminal were false. The forgers - the ex-head of Razgrad Police Department Todor Dimov and his colleagues Prodan Georgiev and Emiliyan Ivanov - were imposed suspended sentences.
