A gunman killed 9 people at a college in Finland on Tuesday before shooting and wounding himself, according to reports of World Information Agencies.
The Finnish new agency STT has also confirmed 9 deaths, based on official police reports while a hospital official said the suspect had been "severely injured" by a gunshot wound to the head.
The shootings began just before 11 a.m. local time as about 150 students were going to class. The school is located in Kauhajoki, 180 miles northwest of Helsinki.
Witnesses give accounts of panic breaking on the school grounds as a hooded gunman entered the building and opened fire.
STT also reports the college building was on fire and that the gunman possibly had explosives on him.
Finnish media said video clips on YouTube showing a young man wearing a leather jacket and firing a gun appeared to be linked to the shooting. The posting was made five days before the shooting and the location was given as Kauhajoki. The user further posted three other clips of himself firing a handgun in the past three weeks.
According to media reports, clips from the 1999 Columbine school shootings in Colorado were listed among the user's favorite videos.
Police could not immediately confirm whether the postings were linked to Tuesday's shooting.
The shootings happened almost a year after a gunman killed eight people and himself at a school in southern Finland.
