A total of 480 kilos of cannabis were seized during a police operation in the village of Dragush in Southwestern Bulgaria.

The plants were found in the region around the town of Blagoevgrad, police said and added they are currently trying to find out who the owners of the fields are.

At the time of seizing some of the blades were hung to get dry in an area, called Lokvata (the Puddle).

As autumn nears, police have launched numerous operations against growers of cannabis in the village regions of Bulgaria, where many people are reportedly engaged in growing the illegal plant to sell to dealers.
