The Bulgarian Princess Miriam Ungria, wife of Bulgarian Prince Kardam has received permission Thursday to visit him the Madrid "October 12" hospital where her husband still remains after their August 15 car accident.
The 46-year-old Kardam, eldest son of Simeon Sax-Coburg, has been taken to the Madrid hospital after suffering severe head trauma from the serious crash he and his wife were involved in inmid-August. He also has fractures on both arms.
Miriam Ungria was also seriously injured in the crash and was listed in another hospital in Madrid. The Princess was released from the hospital in the beginning of September and has been taken home by her father and her sons. Until now she has not been allowed to visit her husband.
In the meantime, more details about the accident have become available. Spanish media has published information that Kardam and Miriam Ungria have been coming home from a wedding when the accident happened. The weeding has been held the previous day and both stopped for the night at their vacation home in Riaza before continuing their travel to Madrid.
During her release from the hospital Miriam Ungria has stated that she did not remember anything from the crash. Initially, the Princess has not been informed about her husband's state. Despite the stress and the fatigue, the royal family remains hopeful that Kardam would recover from his injuries.
