All illegal licensing and permission issuing regulations introduced after 2006 must be eliminated or alleviated, per the request made Monday at a meeting of the Bulgarian National Movement for Stability and Progress party (NMSP).
The Party has also stated that they were supporting a global alleviation of the business in Bulgaria, elimination of most permits and lowering the fees paid by commercial establishments.
The licensing regulations have been introduced on 2006 and are not included in the Law for Limiting Administrative Regulations and Control Over Economic Activities, which has been introduced in 2003.
"The Law had the purpose of helping business, not interfering with it by introducing new regulations and fees. Such regulations cannot be established by the whim of a Ministry or a municipality. They can be introduced only by law," Nikolay Vasilev, Minister of State Administration stated at the meeting.
"Bulgaria ranks 79th in the world by the index for competitiveness while we take the 100th place for starting a new business, compared with Romania's 26th ranking," Vasilev pointed out, citing data from the World Economic Forum and the World Bank.
NMSP is going to request that the execution of the Law for Administrative Regulations would become authority of the Economy and Energy Ministry. The Party is also submitting a proposal for the reduction of the fees for conducting business in Bulgaria, which have gone up drastically in the last two years, according to Party's representatives.
