The plants were found mostly in the region around the town of Petrich, police said and added they are currently trying to find out who the owners of the fields are.
As autumn nears, police have launched numerous operations against growers of cannabis in the village regions of Bulgaria, where many people are reportedly engaged in growing the illegal plant to sell to dealers.
