26 people have been admitted to the hospital with light injuries after am emergency landing of a Boeing-737 plane in Limoges (Southwest France).

The plane of the Irish budget airline Ryanair has been on flight from Bristol (UK) to Barcelona (Spain), but had to be diverted to the Limoges International Airport after a sudden loss of cabin pressure.

The emergency landing has been qualified by Ryanair as precaution.

The plane had been forced to sharply reduce the height of the flight by 8,000 meters in just five minutes. There have been 168 passengers and 7 crew members aboard the plane.

Passengers tell that they were terrified as the aircraft plummeted and oxygen masks dropped down. A total of 26 passengers have been transferred, at their request, to a local hospital complaining of earache.

Arctic explorer Pen Hadow, who in 2003 became the first man to walk solo and unsupported from the northern coast of Canada to the North Pole, his wife, Mary, their son and daughter were also among the 168 passengers.

A Ryanair spokeswoman has said a replacement aircraft would take passengers on to Spain and a coach would take those who preferred not to fly. The airline said it was sending an engineer to Limoges to find out why the plane lost pressure.
