The Chair of Bulgaria's Electronic Media Council Mariya Stefanova confirmed Sunday that the largest private national TV station in Bulgaria bTV would be sold by its owner - Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation - by the end of 2008.

The Media Council has been notified about the sale by the Managing Director of bTV Albert Parsons, and the Executive Director Viki Politova.

According to Stefanova, the Australian media tycoon Murdoch is selling all of his TV stations in Eastern Europe - two channels in Latvia, one in Serbia, and another one in Poland.

Of all bTV has the best financial condition and will likely be sold first. Before Darik Radio Stefanova said there were rumors that four potential buyers would bid for the purchase of bTV.
